Mercer and Barker MB4F Euphonium Mouthpiece

Description +

Mercer and Barker mouthpieces are produced from the tradition of precise British engineering and fine craftsmanship.  The Mercer and Barker MB4F Euphonium mouthpiece is primarily based on the MB4; a mouthpiece that features a heavy weight design while providing a remarkable clarity of articulation and quick response.  The MB4F has a relatively flat rim that gives the player even more clarity of attack and easier flexibility.  The moderate bowl shape of the cup produces a brilliant tone throughout all registers of the instrument.  The MB4F is currently available in large shank models.

Specifications:

Inner Diameter:  25.95mm/1in

Rim:  Width, 6.76mm/0.27in, flat

Cup:  Mediuim deep, slight bowl

Bore:  7.28mm/0.29in

The mouthpiece is great quality good deep cup however with my embouchure it doesn’t fit my needs otherwise I would give it five stars but it’s a personal thing I would say is this would be a great mouthpiece for those with the emboucherefor this

Every now and then, I double on euphonium, but I nicknamed the MB5F “gravity” because it keeps pulling me to practice! For me, the low range articulations speak relatively quickly with little effort, the middle register yields a chocolatey “silky” tone, and I find I have a lot of control in the higher tessitura, so I do feel this mouthpiece is good for solos, ensemble playing and of course, chamber music.
