The Mercer and Barker MB2 is a large tuba mouthpiece that serves the player who prefers a big diameter without sacrificing focus of sound. It is based on the popular design of the MB2 but with a larger inner diameter. The mouthpiece rim is geared towards helping the player smoothly transition from register to register with minimal changes in the jaw position. The low register can become more powerful, more reliable, and more consistent with the larger diameter and deep cup size. The MB2 rim also provides the player with more comfort so that endurance is not an issue. The MB2 is currently available in large (European) shank models.
