One of the most impressive mouthpieces I’ve used. Incredible depth of sound, and excellent tone quality.

I've played on the RT-50 for roughly one year now, and I believe that it's a wonderful choice for a mouthpiece. It allows for lower range notes to played with more ease while maintaining the same higher range capabilities of other mouthpieces. I would definitely recommend this mouthpiece for those looking for a mouthpiece that will help with a warmer tone, a present low register, range, and overall volume of the notes. (As these are the differences that I noticed when switching from a Conn Helleberg to the PT-50)

I purchased the RT-50L on the recommendation of Mr. Tucci for my MRP-C tuba. This is a FANTASTIC combination. Provides excellent slotting, clear articulation, and a wonderful thick, core-focused sound with plenty of overtone color. A real winner. But don't take my word on it, try it for yourself.

I have been a perantucci user for over 10 years, my orchestra colleagues and I here in Brazil decided to give the Robert Tucci mouthpiece a try, so far it has been a pleasant surprise, everyone liked it, I intend to buy other Robert Tucci measures soon to have a diverse nozzle setup. I recently had the pleasure of testing the new RT-50 tuba mouthpiece. Many years ago, I had owned and played an earlier generation of this mouthpiece. As a tuba teacher, occasionally mouthpieces tend to “walk” out of the studio and that was the case with at least 2 of my earlier versions of the RT-50. As a result, I had not played on a 50 in over 20 years. The moment I started to play the RT 50 I was reminded of why I liked the 50 so much, but it seemed so much better than I remember. I was impressed by the clarity/center of sound, response and clear articulation. The sound had great richness and depth in the low register. One would think a tuba mouthpiece this large would take away from the upper register, but no. The upper register pops out with ease. This is a unique large funnel mouthpiece that will serve as a superb mouthpiece for the contrabass tuba in many types of genre from solo to brass quintet to tuba quartets to the symphony orchestra or the concert band. It’s a high-quality mouthpiece at a very affordable price. I am thrilled that Bob Tucci has made slight changes to the RT 50 to make it an even more outstanding mouthpiece.

I like RT-50! I’m still a beginner (3 years) but it was time for me to graduate from the small Bach25. Looking at the specs, I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to handle something as large. Prof. Mouthpiece encouraged me to give it a try and was also kind enough to suggest I consider RT-44 as well. Thanks to the generous return policy, I had the pleasure of trying out both. They’re actually both really nice mouthpieces. Very comfortable. I can practice longer without hurting. Ultimately I chose to keep RT-50 for its power, clarity and presence especially when playing loud. It feels great to play on it, and getting down to the extreme low range is now fun on my vintage BBb York. I highly recommend this even to a beginner.

The RT-50 is a very solid mouthpiece that offers a great mix of resonance and core. Compared to my old mouthpiece, it is a much better match for my VMI piston Neptune and I feel more confident in all respects of my playing. Comfort, flexibility, sound, dynamics, it's all there!
