    The Robert Tucci RT-62 tuba mouthpiece became available in early 2022 and was designed for the 21st century F tuba.  The RT-62 is designed to emphasize all of the best qualities of the bass tuba such as clarity and a voice like tone.  It also adds what many tubists are looking for on their F tubas such as a solid low range, consistent intonation, and power.  The 62 opens up more possibilities for bass tubas such as brass quintet and other large ensemble opportunities without compromising the instrument's solo capabilities.

    The RT-62 is the perfect addition to Robert Tucci's classic bass tuba mouthpieces:  the RT-40, 64, 65, and 72.

    Meant for an F tuba, works well on a Bb tuba though. The 32.5 mm rim allows for an open cavity and fat low notes, combined with the slightly sharp inner part of the rim have a good seal with the lips and mouthpiece. The shape of the cup makes it easy to play on and notes are effortless compared to other pieces I’ve used. I recommend this piece for any intermediate/advanced player as it isn’t very beginner friendly, because the effortlessness of playing gives a variable tone quality and new players may sound bad.
