Robert Tucci RT-82 Tuba Mouthpiece

Description +

The RT-82 tuba mouthpiece, designed and produced by Robert Tucci, is the perfect match for the modern 5/4 or 6/4 tuba!

The 82 is based on the German concept of using a voluminous, bowl shape cup.  When combined with a large tuba, this design helps to "liven" up the sound, add more clarity to attacks, and provide tonal focus without sacrificing any of the instrument's warmth.  It's also a great tool for player that wants power when needed!

The Robert Tucci RT-82 mouthpiece also features a comfortable rim and medium size diameter that "feels right"!

Specifications:

Cup:  Very round and moderately shallow

Inner Diameter:  32.5mm/1.28in

Rim Width:  8.0mm/0.31in, rounded with slightly sharp inner edge

Bore: 8.2mm/0.32in

The response of the RT-82 is so good and quick I will use it on compositions that need that immediate response. Marches, some allegro movements, and charts such as the concert band arrangement of the Hallelujah chorus as recorded by Mannheim Steamroller my community band is playing in its Christmas concert in a few weeks, to get that immediate articulation required to emulate synthesizers. One additional benefit of the RT-82 is that because of its slightly shallower cup, efficiency, and quick response, the upper range for me is more secure where required, as it was when I played The Thunderer march on the 38K.
