    The Robert Tucci RT-88 tuba mouthpiece is for the serious tubist that wants to be the foundation of the orchestra or band.  This large mouthpiece gives the player a strong, reliable low register that responds well in very soft passages as well as extremely loud music.  The cup of the RT-88 is more bowl shaped which can give a BBb or CC tuba a wide range of tonal colors.  This is a great mouthpiece for the tubist with large lips!

    I'm a bass trombonist that doubles on BBb tuba every so often, and I got tired of the funnel shape of the Helleberg 120s. The RT-88 offers a huge, round, and stable mid and low register that makes tuba much more fun to play.

    This was a great upgrade for me. Highly recommend for players of bigger tubas going into college or in college. However do keep in mind this is a very large mouthpiece compared to other similar ones so if you are coming from something smaller like a Hellenberg this is may feel like a big difference.

    The RT 88 is very similar to the RT 50 with a wider cup though not as deep as the RT 50. Truly a pleasure to play. Easy to center the notes with clarity and accuracy in high and low registers. Great projection of sound with wonderful richness particularity in the low register. I compared the RT 88 to an earlier version of the 88. As with the testing of the RT 50, there was a slight difference resulting in an improvement that is quite appealing in terms of focus of the sound and projection. The RT 88 is a great fit for any contrabass tuba.
