The Canadian Brass MB-88 is truly a large mouthpiece that can make playing low on any BBb or CC tuba a lot easier. Arnold Jacobs was known to use a larger mouthpiece when these occasions made it necessary. The MB-88 has a wide, bowl shaped cup which is very rounded at the bottom. The open backbore helps to contribute to greater power, weight, and volume. This mouthpiece's moderate shell weight gives it more flexibility and better response which is usually not associated with larger mouthpieces. The MB-88 has a similar cup to the Robert Tucci RT-88 but has a rim that is based on the Arnold Jacobs Heritage Tuba mouthpiece.
